Bistecca Fiorentina (Florentine Steak)
This iconic Tuscan dish, featuring a thick-cut T-bone steak grilled to perfection, pairs beautifully with the bold and elegant flavours of Antinori Villa Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
- 1 thick-cut T-bone steak (approximately 1kg and 4cm thick)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 garlic cloves, smashed
- Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Steak: Remove the steak from the fridge at least 1 hour before cooking to bring it to room temperature. Pat it dry with paper towels and rub with olive oil, rosemary, and garlic.
- Preheat the Grill: Heat a grill or grill pan over high heat until smoking hot.
- Grill the Steak: Place the steak on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (50-55℃ for medium-rare).
- Rest the Steak: Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes. Sprinkle generously with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Serve: Slice the steak against the grain and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
